100 wc week 13

Once upon a time I was walking in Dead park.  And the next step I took I was in a pot of boiling hot water I screamed said to myself “ Where am I”  I screamed for help but knowone replied.  I tryed jumping out 1st attempt  failed but the 2nd attempt worked and i tryed to run away but I was about 100 story’s high and I could hear yelling It sounded like an ogre.

I came across a pile of leaves but as the leaves rustled I returned to dead park I said to myself “ That was a weird adventure.”

Mmm thats tasty.  This book is about your tongue and it has got wonderful diragrams.  I think you should read this book because it explanes so much about  your tongue and mouth

50th jubile

A Day in Room 11 at Oaklands School in 2014.

My name is Dylan Scott

Oaklands School is 50 in 2014 .  My teacher is Mrs Patten and our reliever is Mrs Mcleod . Their is roughly 580 people at Oaklands and the years go from yr 0 to yr 8 plus we have got 29 people in our class  and 25 classrooms in the school.

I get to school by car sometimes by walking, scootering or biking not a very big walk for me because I only live 3 blocks away.

At Oaklands School we have a lot of technology for e.g. in our class we have 5 laptops, 1 desktop, 4 I-pads, 2 I-pods and an apple tv.

Oaklands School teaches 3 main subjects they  are Writing, Reading and Maths.  We also have other subjects like Integrated Studies, SQUIRT which is silent reading, Fitness, storytime and Sport/P.E.  My favourite subject is Maths, because it challenges me.  

At our school we have 1 basketball court, 2 netball courts, a chess board and 3 handball courts.  We also have 3 playgrounds and a field. The  playgrounds are for years 0-2, 3-4 and 5-8.

I hope Oaklands School can live on for another 50 years to get to 100 years old.

 This picture is the prompt for week 8 of the 100 word challenge.

Why can I not get to sleep?!!!

Maybe I should have a drink of milk.  

"Oh why," I wondered.  

I should go for a walk, that will burn some energy.  When I was walking I came across a statue.  I had a look at the statue then continued on.  Five minutes later, "WHAT," I thought, I had already passed this statue.  

I progressed on but I heard a noise.  I quickly turned around and the statue had moved and when I turned around again the statue was chasing me.  I screamed for my life and ran my heart out.   

100wc week #7 ...I could not believe the smell

I was at school and when it was brain food time I got out my apple. I could not believe the smell.  I took a big bite and before I could  say, “ OMG, “  I ran to the boys toilet and spat the apple out.  Before I went back to class I had a good hard look at my apple. It was rotten, soft, brown and it had a worm farm in it. It smelt like a mixture of food rubbish and vomit. 
I quickly threw it in the bin. 
After school I told my mum that my apple was rotten. I was feeling quite annoyed that I missed out on my fruit break just because mum had not checked the quality of fruit in my lunch box.

Once upon a time lived a crocodile that was so lazy that he lost his brain. It said ‘’ I am not living with you any more, crocodile.’’ The crocodile replied, "I don’t care I don’t need you anyway.’’

So the brain stormed away and sighed, “Oh just don’t worry about him.” 

The brain was walking along minding his own business when an orange hit him in the cerebrum. "Oww,’’ he bellowed. 

Luckily, he landed on something soft, his crocodile.

“Ohh, I landed on something, WAIT who am I?”

He forgot who he was. 
"HELP SOMEONE, PLEASE HELP.’’

It all started on a stormy night.  I was asleep in my bed on a boat called the Swift Sailer until I felt a big BANG!! I jumped out of my bed and ran up to the top deck. The captain said that we had hit a rock. I replied ''we will have to jump out of the boat.''

I saw an island and told my crew to swim over to it.  When I got to the island there was some coconuts and berries and we had to drink from the sea.

I found some train tracks and some supplies to build a cart.  We travelled along the tracks BUT...


After awhile the tracks came to an end i yelled ''there is nowhere to go!!!''


I saw a ship we signalled it over and it saw us the captain said ''where do you want to go Mattie?''
I replied ''back to my home town thanks mate.''
''Sure thing'' said the captain.
We finally returned but something was different...

ballantynes info report

BALLANTYNES

Ballantynes is a huge store on 43 Lichfield street Christchurch.  It employs over 300 employees over it's 1 acre building.

FIRE

In 1947 Ballantynes had one of Christchurch's worst fires.  It killed 41 people and started in the basement at 3:31 pm on the 18th of November 1947.

HISTORY

Ballantynes opened in 1854.  The founder was John Ballantyne.  the business began in the front room of a Cashel street residence in 1854.

SHOP

In Ballantynes they stock clothes from hats to caps and pants to shirts for all ages.  They even sell toys. 

CONCLUSION

I think Ballantynes must make a lot of money because it sells such a huge variety of products.

We looked at some pic's of an baby elephant and had to write the story in our own words.

Stuck in mud, lovely, here's my story......

It had been raining all night so at the strike of dawn I decided to go for a stroll. BUT!!! When I was walking beside a railroad, suddenly the ground collapsed in on me.

I slid down a muddy cliff until I hit goey mud. I trumpeted and trumpeted but no one replied.

It was about 3'o clock in the afternoon when finally some rescuers came. They started throwing leaves for me to eat because I hadn't eaten all day. After a while some zoo workers came to rescue me. They got me out with a huff and puff. Out and walking again, next time I should be more careful when I go for a stroll.

Top Town poem

W.A.L.T. use poetic verse to recount an event we participated in.

The Top Town event was usual enough they had the Burst Pipes, the House of Cards, the Memory Maze, the Question of Balance, and even Map Hop.

My friends, my teammates and I, doing what kids do - Stacking 100 wobbly bricks, Blocking the holey pipe, Memorizing the long pattern, Building the colossal New Zealand map, Balancing, Soaking, Jumping, Rushed around outrageous obstacles.

Choose you culture, treat it four ways

we are learning about the elements and techniques of painting.
we are able to share culture identities through the arts.

I choose the new Zealand culture as the painting subject.  I researched some of the new Zealand icons and i decided to do the NZ L&P bottle because it is native to NZ

1.We painted our draft copy

2. We outlined our drawing on a A4 piece of paper.

3. On  a  A4  paper we drew a new copy without painting it.

4. We traced the A4 copy on to a A2 4 times.

5.Then we painted it with different colours for complementary i used orange and blue for analagous i used blue, sky blue, purple-blue and for monochro
matica  i used orange-red pink and red and for black and white i used black and white.

6. Finally we  outlined it with black vivid.
I think i did very well because i am not very good at painting.
